TV-PHONE, WHY IT LOST MANY CUSTOMERS

Some time ago, mobile phone customers in several developing countries were amazed by the coming of TV-Phone (a mobile phone that can capture TV-Program). As the football fever infected many people around the world, this TV-Phone expectedly gave a great chance for them not to miss any single match broadcasted by local TV station. But that trend only lasted for several months; the TV-phone got less and less popular due to some reasons, especially its price, battery, and TV-signal capture.
Among other aspects, the three weaknesses of TV-mobile phone were the most influencing factors why such a device began to be deserted by many customers. As the trend of TV-Phone spread around the world, the price of such a communication device got much higher than those without TV. Not many people could afford it. Normally, the price of TV-Phone can reach twice of those without TV-feature.
Beside that, TV-phones were mostly launched with the same quality and capacity batteries, thus they only gave some limited time for customers to see a TV-Program. If in a normal condition, we can use our mobile phone more than three days, with TV-feature on, mostly we have to recharge it after 3 to 5 hours. It means 3 to 5 times recharging in 24 hours. What an annoying job to do in a day.
Furthermore, the TV-phone was so weak in capturing TV-signal. It could only be used in certain area, normally near the TV-transmitter to be able to capture good quality picture. Therefore, it was useless when used in a rural area. So we have to limit our mobile area if we want to see TV program through the TV-Phone. Can we do it?
Today, as the trend of mobile phone technology gradually changes, some manufacturers try to leave TV-feature, but some others keep and improve such a feature for a certain customers. The choice is ours so be selective in spending our money not to buy a feature that we do not really use.
