As Facebook fever hit people around the world some years ago, Chinese mobile phone manufacturers competitively filled such a business opportunity by launching their new affordable products with new feature: mobile Facebook application. With the easiness of internet connection in many countries, both developing and developed ones, they used the new application to attract more customers.
Today, a lot of people get addicted in accessing Facebook through Chinese mobile phone as they can easily update status, put comment to their friends’ status, or send messages. Unlike those high-end cellular phones which are much more expensive like Blackberry and IPhone, Chinese mobile phones generally have one main limitation for Facebook lovers, namely chat support. Thus, customers still have difficulty in having a chat with their online friends since the Facebook application in many Chinese cellular phones does not support that activity.
To fill their hunger of chatting activity in Facebook, many Chinese cellular phone customers try to install third-party applications such as Nimbuzz, Ebuddy, or Mig33. Certainly, other limitations come as the third-party applications do not embedded directly in the mobile Facebook. Customers have to use such applications out of their mobile Facebook, bear more space to install, and pay some more amount of money to use it.
Thus, as the demand for that application arises, mobile phone manufacturers have another business opportunity. Let us see what they will do. Cheers.
